Andretti utilized a massive amount of data in their working environment, but they needed to ensure that intellectual property was kept away from competitors, especially when an employee left to go to another racing series or team. Andretti needed greater visibility to detect anomalous behavior such as a large data transfer, indicating a possible data breach.
CDS wanted security to be the bedrock of its new state-of-the-art data center that rivals all leading public cloud providers. Rook Security (Rook) assisted DAS in the security design of CDS, handling the design, implementation, testing, and security operations-all services they continue to perform in conjunction with Alert Logic (AL). The biggest challenge in taking over security services for CDS was consolidating more than 100 subsidiaries, requiring new architectures, processes, and technology.
A global giant in the software industry had challenged its vendors (including GMR) to become compliant with a new data protection standard for third parties. GMR needed to discover what gaps existed between current and future state controls and determine the best strategic course of action. GMR believed that they could become compliant by these new standards on their own, but decided to engage Rook Security, seeing this initiative as a good opportunity to reexamine their entire set of business processes to build a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
